About Ying

Psychotherapist, Nutritionist, Supervisor

Ying has been in private practice since 2003, and is the founder of Integrative Nourishment.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Nutritionist, Ying has expertise in the integration of psychology of nourishment and functional medicine nutrition.

Through compassionate exploration, Ying delights in helping her clients understand and resolve the root cause of their health issues (be it biochemical, psychological, emotional, or relational), and to cultivate practices that are most nourishing and sustaining to lifelong health.

As a certified clinical supervisor in mental health counseling, Ying also enjoys teaching new graduates with dual nutrition and mental health degrees, how to use an integrative approach in their practice.

Ying’s Background:

Ying earned her Master of Science in Nutrition and Clinical Health Psychology from Bastyr University, Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Amherst College, and Certification in Health Coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.  In addition to over 10 years of clinical experience in her private practice, Ying has advanced trainings in Addictions and Chemical Dependency, Lifespan Integration Trauma Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy for Individuals, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy.  Ying is also an approved Nourishment Cleanse Facilitator trained under Halé Sofia Schatz, international nutrition educator and author of If the Buddha Came to Dinner: How to Feed the Body to Nourish the Spirit.

In her personal life, Ying believes deeply that a nourished world starts with healthy, balanced, grounded individuals, and thus strives to be one.  She greatly values time with her family, and is a lover of cooking, the outdoors, ultimate frisbee, yoga, and meditation.
